The area of the slick from the release of oil products was 80 km². The accident occurred on August 7 when oil was injected onto the Greek tanker Minerva Symphony. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which carried out the loading, said that the oil that got into the water spread over an area of 200 square meters, and the volume was “about 12 cubic meters.”
