Daily incidence of coronavirus in Moscow increased by almost a third

Over the past day, more than 4.2 thousand cases of coronavirus were registered in Moscow, which is almost 32% more than the day before. This was announced by the operational headquarters.

According to official data, over the past day, 4287 patients with COVID-19 were detected in Moscow, and 3254 cases of infection were reported the day before.

Over the past day, the coronavirus has led to the death of 102 people, 7587 patients have recovered.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,477,871 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Moscow, 24,791 people have died from the consequences of the disease.

As a reminder, at the beginning of the week, Meduza, Mediazona and Kholod published joint investigation, which said that statistics on coronavirus cases in Russia can be underestimated five times. The investigation was based on a closed registry of the Ministry of Health, created to track those who have recovered from the coronavirus. The authors obtained data on the number of entries in the register of the Ministry of Health based on the numbers of QR codes that were given to people who have had COVID-19.

Ministry of Health confirmed the presence of a closed registry dedicated to the coronavirus, but said that it contains records not only of cases of COVID, but also data on patients with pneumonia, vaccinated and representatives of other unnamed “categories.”
