A case against the activists of the “Left Resistance” filed against the extremist community

[ad_1]

The FSB department of Russia for Moscow and the Moscow region opened a criminal case against six activists of the Left Resistance movement on the creation and participation in an extremist community, informs “Under”

The leader of the Left Resistance, Daria Polyudova, is suspected of organizing an extremist community. The rest of the defendants in the case – activists Sergei Kirsanov, Kirill Kotov, Igor Kuznetsov, Andrei Romanov and Alena Krylova – are involved in the extremist community.

The FSB believes that Polyudova created the “Left Resistance” with the aim of “preparing and committing crimes of an extremist nature, namely, publicly justifying terrorism and public calls for extremist activities.”

Recall that in 2015, Polyudova was sentenced to two years in a penal colony on charges of separatism after the activist tried to organize a march for the federalization of the Kuban.

In May 2021, the court sentenced Polyudova to six years in a general regime colony, found guilty of justifying terrorism using the Internet (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and public calls for extremist activity (part 1 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). The court also banned the activist from working in the media, organizing mass events and publishing information on the Internet for four years.
