The department of the Investigative Committee for the Belgorod Region opened a case after the publication of a video of the beating of a prisoner in IK-4 in Alekseevka by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service. About it reported in the press service of the UK.
Human rights activists posted the video of the beating on Youtube at the end of August. It shows a prisoner in underpants standing against a wall, while men in camouflage uniforms accuse him of pushing one of them and “talking foul language”. They hit him on the head several times, demand to take off his panties and squat, put their hands behind his back and put on handcuffs. A special forces soldier of the Federal Penitentiary Service then threatens the man to “pull out the Adam’s apple.”
How informs Gulagu.net, the video was filmed in 2015-2016. Employees of the human rights project also named the names of the colony employees caught in the video. The Investigative Committee clarified that the beating took place in 2012, and the case was opened under the article on abuse of power with the use of violence. There are no suspects in it.
The earlier case of torture of prisoners was also aroused in the Saratov region, this happened after publications in the media. Head of the Saratov Federal Penitentiary Service resigned.
