According to the WHO yearbook “World Health Statistics”, the population of Ukraine in 2020 was 43,994,000 people. That is, since 1989, of course, it has decreased, but not by 40%, as Vesti Nedeli claims, but only by 15%. It should be remembered that since 2015, statistics have not taken into account residents of the annexed Crimea and non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where about 2.5 million people live. We add that the head of Vesti Nedeli Dmitry Kiselev, who actively supported the Russian military invasion of Ukraine in 2014, had a hand in the loss of this population by Ukraine.
