In Colombia, a Russian citizen was detained, suspected of organizing a criminal community of drug smugglers. About it reported the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
“In the city of Medellin, Colombia, one of the alleged leaders of the criminal community was detained. The issue of his extradition from the Republic of Colombia to the Russian Federation is being resolved, ”Volk said.
The detainee is suspected of organizing a channel for smuggling drugs produced in South America through Spain to Russia for subsequent sale. Now the police are establishing his possible connections with the Colombian drug cartels.
The detention of a Russian in Colombia was carried out by employees of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with colleagues from the NCB of Interpol and the Office of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As Volk noted, two more defendants in the initiated case were put on the international wanted list.
