The court in Magas sent blogger Adam Khamchiev under house arrest. About it writes SOTA with reference to Khamchiev’s colleague from the Civil Initiative party, Magomed Khazbiev.
On January 28, Khazbiev said that the blogger became a defendant in a criminal case on the possession of weapons (part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code), initiated on an anonymous application. He allegedly walked in the yard with a gun.
Khazbiev is sure that Khamchiev is being persecuted for his public position and stories about the problems of the republic. At the same time, according to the politician, the blogger was tortured into confessing to keeping a certain pistol converted into a combat pistol.
Earlier, the press service of the republican party “Civil Initiative”, whose representative is Khamchiev, reported that on January 27 at 6 o’clock in the morning, unknown armed men dressed in military uniform broke into the blogger’s apartment and took him away in an unknown direction. Civic Initiative linked the kidnapping to his blogging activities.
Witnesses of the kidnapping of the blogger were his neighbors, as at first unknown people knocked on the door of three neighboring apartments by mistake. They introduced themselves as communal workers, checking debts for paying for electricity. When they entered Khamchiev’s apartment, the neighbors heard screams and noise from it. At about 7:20 a.m., a relative of the blogger found two men in civilian clothes and masks in it, two more were standing on the landing. When asked about the whereabouts of Khamchiev, they replied that he was not there and ordered him to leave the apartment.
“Civil Initiative” published video showing several men taking Khamchiev away and putting him in a car
Khamchiev was one of the first to talk about the complaints of residents of Ingushetia about poor quality medical care in the Nazran perinatal center. Also recently, he has been publicizing the stories of people affected by flooding in the village of Upper Achaluki in 2021.
