The Investigative Committee for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra has launched a pre-investigation check in connection with the attack on Novaya Gazeta correspondents Izolda Drobina and Arden Arkman while working at the Surgut Clinical Traumatology Hospital. About it informs Novaya Gazeta with reference to the journalists themselves.

The day before it became known that Andrey Matveev, deputy chief physician of the hospital, attacked correspondents after they asked him for a comment about the suicide of two nurses of the department. According to journalists, at first Matveev silently passed by, and after a while he returned and attacked Arden Arkman. He knocked Arkman to the ground and tried to smash the camera. After that, he hit Drobina in the cheekbone.

“I tried to pull back his right hand, which he used to beat Arden. As a result, he left Arden lying on the ground and “gave” his attention to me, ”said Drobina.

At the end of 2021, two nurses from the anesthesiology and intensive care unit of this hospital at once – 49-year-old Iraida Petrova and 41-year-old Ayazhan Tashmagambetova – done away with with myself . They both complained about being bullied by management.

A Znak.com source in the hospital said that Tashmagabetova began to be bullied after she complained about the head nurse Olga Matveychuk due to overtime and the lack of coronavirus payments. Petrova stood up for Tashmagabetova. “She was also bullied. After Ayazhan passed away, “kind” colleagues approached Iraida and asked, did she understand that it was because of her? A black man walked out of grief, ”said an employee of the department of anesthesiology and resuscitation.

According to her, the clinic’s management was “aware of the situation, as was the organizer of such methods of working with people, the head nurse of the department, Olga Matveychuk.”

Another employee of the hospital said that in their department, communication with nurses by senior staff in the style of “I don’t like it – I went to write a letter of resignation with an open date” is in the order of things at planning meetings.

On November 19, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on bringing nurse Tashmagambetova to suicide. According to Ayazhan’s husband, she “complained for a long time that she was harassed and humiliated at work.”

On December 20, Governor Natalya Komarova met with the doctors of Surgut. One of the questions at the meeting concerned pressure from the leadership. Komarova promised that she would help resolve all conflict situations.
