Cholponbek Sydykova, a Kyrgyz citizen who went missing in Kazakhstan found in a hospital in Almaty. He said that the Kazakh security forces broke his legs and ribs.

On the night of January 9, Sydykov was detained on the Almaty-Bishkek highway. He was beaten and then taken to a hospital in the Alatau district of Almaty, where he was found by employees of the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan.

“First, the military detained him, then handed him over to the police, then they beat him, broke two legs, ribs, then he was taken to the hospital, they didn’t give any information. Today we found him,” said Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Almaty Nazarali Aripov.

“We went up the stairs, then we were led into some kind of corridor. They put us against the wall and let’s beat everyone already. Everyone was beaten. We were all screaming. Then we were beaten from 10 am, and in the afternoon my legs were already broken. They beat me with fists, feet, batons,” Sydykov himself confirmed the information.

When asked about who beat Sydykov, Aripov replied that the security forces, adding that he could not say more precisely.

January 14 acquaintance Sydykova Aigul Sartbaeva wrote on his Facebook page that he disappeared six days ago. According to her, on January 8, the man’s temporary registration ended, and he decided to leave Almaty for home, in Bishkek. On the way out of the city, he was dropped from a taxi, detained and, presumably, taken to the detention center in the village of Koshmambet to check his involvement in the protests. After that, the owner of the apartment where Sydykov lived turned to the Almaly police department to confirm his alibi. They did not accept his application and offered to contact the police by phone. Later, Sartbayeva and the owner of the apartment reported Sydykov’s detention to the consulate of Kyrgyzstan.

“We reported his detention to the consulate of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in Almaty, they have not found him yet. They applied for 1414, I filled out the application <...>, but I didn’t understand if it passed, ”Sartbaeva wrote.

The Consul General said that tomorrow Sydykov will be transported to Kyrgyzstan, as he needs urgent surgery on his legs and ribs.

Earlier, Kazakh security forces tried to pass off Kyrgyz musician Vikram Ruzakhunov as a foreign mercenary. January 9 Kazakh state TV channels showed video in which he says that he flew to the country to participate in the protests. According to him, for this he was allegedly paid $200, paid for the flight and placed in an apartment in Almaty. Kyrgyzstanis learned there is a famous pianist in it and they talked about it on social networks, the information was confirmed by him colleagues and relatives. After that, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev stood up for Ruzakhunov.
