Nelli Vavilina, the head of the municipality Gavan on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg, was summoned to the prosecutor’s office about her cats. As a deputy herself reported Znak.com, she did not understand what the prosecutor’s office wanted from her.

On Facebook Vavilina wrotethat a resident of the neighboring municipality of Dekabristov Island wrote a complaint against her, but the deputy did not understand what the essence of the claims was.

“Actually, these are my mom’s cats,” Vavilina said. “I was summoned to the prosecutor’s office and began to ask questions whether I am married or in a relationship and why my cats are in the photo of another person.”

According to Vavilina, prosecutors “specified separately: ‘Is this red-haired man named Garik or Dorik?’

“I couldn’t find out what the essence of the accusations was and what the applicant didn’t like, they didn’t show me the complaint, I simply don’t have time to do this. I do not rule out that there may be another underlying reason in all this, ”said the deputy to Znak.com.

Nelli Vavilina was nominated for the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg in the last elections in 2021. She lost to United Russia party Konstantin Chebykin, after which she went to court demanding that the election results be recognized as illegal.
