Blogger Insa accused of contributing to terrorism due to 8-year-old Vkontakte correspondence

The case against the blogger Insa Lander (Oguz Insa Soltan-Khamidovna), who is accused of aiding terrorism (part 1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), is based on the correspondence of eight years ago. The FSB of Russia for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic believes that from January 19 to April 24, 2014, Insa “involved and recruited into terrorist activities” her acquaintance, Duguzhev Umarbiya (Umar).

Inca, according to her testimony, met Duguzhev around 2010-2011. In the materials of the case it is said that Duguzhev intended to conclude a Muslim marriage with Insa, she was also recruiting him. Moreover, judging by the dates in the case file, she began to recruit him five days after the death of her mother. Since mid-2014, she moved from KBR to Moscow, worked as a cleaner in a restaurant and as a copywriter, and returned to KBR once or twice a year.

As reported in the materials of the case, Insa wrote to Duguzhev: “… so that Allah would take you to him in the best possible way”, “on the path of Allah and the need to conduct active actions”, “Allah honored you with a fight on his way”, “Everything is in your hands” and etc.

According to the investigation, with these expressions Insa tried to persuade Duguzhev to “participate in armed formations and terrorist organizations.” Duguzhev himself adheres to the same opinion, who gave essentially the same explanation for each phrase: “I understood these statements in such a way that Oguzova I. would take part in hostilities and after death Allah would take me to her “,” she wanted me to leave for Syria to participate in hostilities on the side of the participants in terrorist structures, and that this is “fard”, that is, the duty of a Muslim. “

“When I corresponded with Duguzhev, only 5 days have passed since the death of my mother,” explained Insa. – I was under a lot of stress. He offered his condolences, I accepted them and said that my family considered me to be the culprit in the death of my mother (brought her, did not obey, and so on). We were outraged by this, he advised us to pray more. And in the process of transitioning the topic to religion, we talked about the type of actions in it. Once again – the words “jihad, infidels, there was no cut or kill.” I said that it is easier for him to stand out in religion and do godly things, but for me a woman can only give birth to children or study, and everyone is always inclined to the first one. She said that if she were a man, she would not sit still, and in general – look at “Said,” do you think it took him a long time to choose? ”

Shortly before Insa’s arrest and giving testimony in her case, Duguzhev had already come to the attention of the FSB. On July 29, the Zolsky District Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic considered case 1-134 / 2021 of Duguzhev Umarbiy Mukharbievich, accused under 205.6 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation . He did not appear in court. The case was considered for a month, the sentence was a fine.

As The Insider learned, a few months after the lenient sentence, Duguzhev had already testified about a certain acquaintance who crossed the border of Russia and Syria and was on the international wanted list. The case was similarly based on correspondence.

Note, Insa Lander was detained in the city of Baksan of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on December 9. She was taken to the FSB office in Nalchik; later that day, the court placed her under house arrest until February. Insa is known for her publications about people who post bank card numbers on the network. Most of her Twitter account is devoted to such revelations. In addition, Insa participated in the Male / Female program as the author of an investigation about a woman who was selling half-naked pictures of her 13-year-old daughter. Insa provided evidence that the mother was selling candid photographs on specialized sites on the Internet.
