Since the beginning of the pandemic, excess mortality in Russia has exceeded a million people

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that in the first two weeks of December, the overall mortality rate in Russia fell by 14.7%. In all previous statements, Golikova always cited figures, comparing them with the same period of the previous month.

That is, the excess mortality relative to the expected (148 thousand for the entire month) was about 35 thousand people, the newspaper writes. These 35 thousand must be added to the 987 930 people who died excessively as of the end of November (also according to Golikova). The total excess mortality for the entire pandemic is about 1,023,000 people.
