Russia ranks first among all countries in the number of deaths in fires per 100 thousand people. Such statistics led Emergencies Minister Alexander Chupriyan in an interview with RBC.
“Every minute a new fire breaks out in Russia, every hour one person dies and one person gets injured. We are in first place in terms of the number of deaths in fires per 100 thousand people – 5.8 deaths per 100 thousand people. This is higher than in the post-Soviet countries, and also higher than in developed countries, such as the USA and Germany, ”said the head of the Ministry of Emergencies.
“The business has not gotten rid of the fact that it is easier to pay off before the supervisory authority than to comply with the requirements (of fire safety),” he stressed.
