Chubais, being the head of the unprofitable Rusnano, bought a land plot with an estate near Tver and an apartment in Moscow for $ 1.5 million – hacked correspondence

The hackers opened e-mail correspondence with the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for relations with international organizations to achieve sustainable development goals and the ex-head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais.

In files that were published in the Telegram channel Black Mirror, a site in the Tver region is mentioned, on which a “master’s estate” was built for Chubais and his wife, film director Avdotya Smirnova. Based on the correspondence, the area of ​​the main house is more than 1000 m². Next to it there is a house for servants and guards, as well as a guest house and a swimming pool with paths 25 meters away.

In addition, according to business correspondence between Rusnano employees and Anatoly Chubais, the latter purchased an apartment in the center of Moscow for $ 1.5 million.

Chubais’ subordinates also took care of his personal household chores during working hours. As can be seen from the leaked correspondence, an employee of Rusnano Andrey Belukhin decided the issue of arranging a cinema in Chubais’s house in the village of Peredelkino. Chubais’ wife Avdotya Smirnova also spoke about the construction of this house earlier in interview Ksenia Sobchak.

Anatoly Chubais headed Rusnano for 12 years – from 2008 to 2020. Due to the projects launched by Chubais, Rusnano has a debt to creditors. In 2019, the corporation’s net loss exceeded RUB 16.5 billion. Assets of Rusnano as of December 31, 2019 amounted to 167.6 billion rubles, which is 9.6% less than a year ago.

At the end of 2020, the value of the corporation’s assets fell by 35%, and the net loss reached 52.9 billion rubles. Almost a year after Chubais left office, the new management of Rusnano faced the risk of default and asked creditors to start negotiations on the restructuring of the “disproportionate debt.”
