Pussy Riot participant Maria Alekhina was detained for demonstrating Nazi symbols near her home. About this she reported “Novaya Gazeta”. Earlier on the same charge was detained another member of Pussy Riot, municipal deputy of the Basmanny District, Lusya Stein.
Alekhina was also taken to the Tverskaya police station to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense. According to her, she is accused of publishing a photograph of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, which shows symbols similar to a swastika. The post was made on Instagram in 2015. Stein was arrested for publishing someone else’s fan art, which says “Lucy Stein is a fascist deputy” and depicts the girl herself wearing a headdress resembling an SS cap.
Alekhina and Stein face up to 15 days of administrative arrest or a fine of up to 2 thousand rubles. According to Novaya Gazeta, after the news of the arrest, Stein Alekhina left the house with her belongings, ready to be detained.
