In St. Petersburg, in the Smolenka River, builders engaged in bank protection works found a bag with the remains. The bag also contained the passport of the deceased, which turned out to be 66-year-old Alexander Generalov. He was declared missing on November 14. According to the search organization “Liza Alert”, Generalova’s daughter reported missing. According to her, on November 13, her father left her apartment at the beginning of the Novosmolenskaya embankment and did not get in touch anymore.

The Investigative Committee checked the footage from street CCTV cameras and saw how, at three o’clock in the morning on November 14, a man was driving a cart from house number 1 on Novosmolenskaya embankment, similar to the one to which a bag with the remains was tied. After that, the son of the murdered man was detained. According to Fontanka, he is already making a confession.
