The profile of the political scientist Voronin – the defendant in the Safronov case – disappeared from the RASO website. Traces of his activities were cleared from the Internet

The Insider found site Voronin, where, presumably, Safronov’s article was published, because of which he is accused of treason. The web resource was removed shortly after the arrest of the political scientist. Moreover, all of its cache has been cleared from large services that collect saved copies of sites. From the WebArchive data, it follows that the last copy was made shortly before the arrest of Voronin on December 30, 2020, but later it also disappeared.

According to the investigation, in December 2015, Safronov conveyed to the political scientist Voronin some information about the activities of the RF Armed Forces in Syria. He allegedly forwarded this data to representatives of the University of Zurich in Switzerland and the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany. The FSB claims that the information transmitted could have been used to analyze the actions of Russian troops in Syria. According to the prosecution, Voronin paid Safronov a reward of $ 248 for this information.

Demuri (Dmitry) Voronin was arrested in February 2021 on charges of high treason. He holds Russian and German citizenship. The company “Resost”, the former general director and co-owner of which he, presumably, is, has offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Berlin. According to the source, Voronin for some time worked as a foreign policy and energy consultant in the German parliament. Several dozen Russian political scientists and journalists have collaborated with his consulting agency.
