Investigators of the Tomsk region opened a criminal case in connection with the discovery of a burnt human body in the cemetery of the village of Molchanovo, Molchanovsky district. The identity of the deceased has been established. It turned out to be “a man born in 1962” – informs site of the regional administration of the RF IC. By data sources TV-2, the found body belongs to 59-year-old former judge Yuri Vasiliev.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
On October 30, Vasiliev left the car at the car wash and then disappeared. Relatives and the police started looking for him. The orientation towards a retired judge was sent to the offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Tomsk region.
“According to our information, the body of the judge was found burnt at the local cemetery. A judge’s robe was lying next to the corpse, ”the TV-2 website notes.
As part of the investigation, “the scene of the incident was examined, a number of forensic examinations were appointed, and witnesses are being questioned,” the investigating department said.
Yuri Vasiliev worked in the Molchanovsky court from 1996 to 2017.
Two years ago, a scandal erupted in the Molchanovsky court. Then the entire judicial corps resigned: the chairman of the court Vyacheslav Lapaev, as well as judges Irina Usynina and Tatyana Dubasova. The media linked this unprecedented event to an acquittal against two police officers. They were accused of not providing assistance to a minor injured in an accident. From the testimony of the victim it followed that he allegedly did not need help and he left the scene of the accident on his own. His mother even said that his son was injured in a fall from the roof, and not in a traffic accident, reported website Vtomske.ru.
The prosecutor’s office challenged the acquittal, after which the judges of the Molchanovsky court resigned.
