A case on a bribe of 1 million rubles has been initiated against a Stavropol judge

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, after the consent of the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges of the Russian Federation, opened a criminal case against the judge of the Georgievsky City Court of the Stavropol Territory Vadim Petrov, suspected of receiving a large bribe, writes Kommersant. The mediator in the transfer of money was the judge’s concubine, who worked as a lawyer.

Vadim Petrov is charged with paragraph “c” of Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on a large scale), transfers “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the regional department of the RF IC .. According to the investigation, in October 2020, the suspect received a bribe of one million rubles from a lawyer accused of extortion and participation in a criminal community. For this money, he was supposed to leave the defendant under house arrest, and upon sentencing to reduce the term of imprisonment to 4.5 years.

The judge was detained by officers of the FSB department for the Stavropol Territory after transferring the money.

Earlier it was reported that the interests of the accused who bribed Petrov were represented by Inga Minasyan, the judge’s partner. She worked as a lawyer wrote site “Pravo.ru”.

The High Qualification Collegium of Judges agreed to initiate a criminal case against Vadim Petrov on March 23, 2021. However, the judge tried to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court. On July 22, the judge’s appeal was dismissed.

Court session on the case appointed on November 2.
