Experts estimate that Pfizer will have enough clinical trial data by the end of September to request regulatory approval to use a vaccine for children. Moderna is likely to take longer to prepare documents.
The US regulator approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine for children over 12 years of age in May this year. In June, WHO approved Pfizer vaccinations for adolescents.
At the end of July, the European Medicines Agency recommended that children over the age of 12 be allowed to vaccinate against COVID-19 with a drug created by the American pharmaceutical company Moderna.
