Direct damage from wildfires only in the region since the beginning of the year exceeded 1 billion rubles. During this time, almost one and a half thousand wildfires have been recorded in the region. The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that most of them are due to dry weather and thunderstorms, and careless handling of fire is also the cause of a fire.
Greenpeace expert Grigory Kuksin told The Insider says that the situation with fires in Russia not only remains grave, but has become worse in recent years, and their main cause is the human factor.
