The authorities of the Rostov region will not allow employees of universities and secondary specialized educational institutions who are not vaccinated against coronavirus to work. About it stated head of the regional Rospotrebnadzor Evgeny Kovalev.
Suspension does not threaten only those who have a medical objection to vaccination against COVID-19.
According to Kovalev, the collective immunity of staff in schools in the region has reached 80%, and in universities and colleges it is about 60%.
“Employees of universities look for the worse. Where, at least once, 58% of workers were vaccinated. Taking into account those who have been ill, it barely reaches 62%. In this regard, of course, I advise the rectors and chief physicians of the territories to urgently intensify the work on this contingent, ”said the head of the regional department.
Recall that in early August, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended that subordinate organizations and universities cover at least 80% of staff with coronavirus immunization, and provide unvaccinated students with distance learning and passing exams. In addition, students applying for a hostel were advised to require a certificate of vaccination or recently transferred COVID-19. Later, the deputy head of the department, Dmitry Afanasyev, added that universities are threatened with administrative measures for unreasonable restrictions in connection with the coronavirus.
In June, the Ministry of Labor said that an employee who has not been vaccinated can be suspended from work if the region has a decree on compulsory vaccination. Following this, the leadership of Moscow State University banned unvaccinated employees from going to work, and MGIMO promised to deprive workers who refused vaccination against COVID-19 from their salaries.
