The Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow sentenced the press secretary of Alexei Navalny, Kira Yarmysh, to 1.5 years of restriction of freedom on a “sanitary case”. About it informs “Novaya Gazeta” with reference to the court decision.
Yarmysh is forbidden to change permanent residence, travel outside Moscow and the region and attend public events. Also, the girl is obliged to report to the inspection every month.
Judge Anna Gryaznova found Yarmysh guilty of inciting violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules. According to the investigation, the opposition published on social networks calls to take part in a rally in support of Navalny on January 23, which is why the townspeople arrived in the center of Moscow, who were supposed to be in quarantine due to the coronavirus.
The criminal case was opened the day after the action. Yarmysh was detained on January 30 in a special detention center half an hour before the end of the administrative arrest and was arrested after a search.
In addition to her, Alexei Navalny’s associates Lyubov Sobol, Nikolai Lyaskin and Oleg Stepanov, the oppositionist’s brother Oleg Navalny, Pussy Riot participant Maria Alekhina, head of the Alliance of Doctors * Anastasia Vasilyeva and Moscow municipal deputies Dmitry Baranovsky and Lyusya Stein are involved in the “sanitary case”.
In mid-July, charges were dropped against municipal deputy Konstantin Yankauskas. Oleg Navalny was sentenced to a year of imprisonment conditionally, Lyaskin – to a year of restriction of freedom. Sobol received 1.5 years of restriction of freedom: she was forbidden to leave home from 10 pm to 6 am, attend or participate in mass and other events, and travel outside Moscow and the Moscow region; also Sable will need to be noted at the inspection three times a month.
