The Uzbek authorities said that an Afghan Air Force plane crashed in the south of the country, in the Sherabad region. As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the country, the plane was shot down by the air defense system of Uzbekistan.
“On August 15, an attempt to illegally cross the air border of Uzbekistan by an Afghan military plane was suppressed in the Surkhandarya region,” the Uzbek Defense Ministry said.
