The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan in Tatarstan, at the suit of the prosecutor’s office, recognized Elena Izotova, a candidate for State Duma deputy from Yabloko, to be involved in the activities of an “extremist” organization. There is a corresponding solution in files court.
According to Izotova, the meeting took place in her absence. “Now on the website of the court I discovered that, despite my sick leave and the absence of my representative, the Vakhitovsky court, represented by Judge I.Kh. Bulatov, satisfied the prosecutor’s claim on my involvement in an extremist organization. How important it is to execute the order without observing the laws of the Russian Federation “, – wrote she is on Instagram.
The administrative statement of claim was brought to Elena Izotova by the employees of the prosecutor’s office and employees of the “E” center immediately after she received the certificate of a candidate for the elections.
In the materials of the case with which got acquainted “Novaya Gazeta”, contains screenshots of her page on the social network “VKontakte”, made by an operative of the “E” center, on which Elena Izotova posted posts in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. The prosecutor’s office believes that Elena Izotova’s demands for “the immediate release of Alexei Navalny and other persons,” as well as a proposal to sign a petition to terminate the criminal case against lawyer Ivan Pavlov (who represented the interests of FBK recognized as an extremist and foreign agent), prove her involvement in extremism. Elena Izotova also called for a meeting agreed with the Kazan Mayor’s Office on February 14 and offered to undergo training in election observation. On this basis, the court found Izotova connected with the “Navalny team” in Kazan (earlier the Moscow City Court recognized the “Navalny headquarters” as an extremist organization).
Both Elena Izotova and the Yabloko party thinkthat on the basis of a court decision she will be removed from the elections. She goes to the State Duma from Yabloko in the regional group No. 49, as well as in the Moscow single-mandate district as the head of the Green Russia faction.
Elena Izotova was one of the leaders of the protest against the construction of an incineration plant near Osinovo. In 2020, opponents of the plant, including Izotova, ran for elections to the council of the Osinovsky settlement, but the court dismissed them.
August 9 Moscow City Court canceled registration for the elections to the State Duma of a member of the federal committee of the Yabloko party Lev Shlosberg. A lawsuit against Schlossberg was filed by his rival in the single-mandate constituency No. 207, a representative of the Greens, Andrei Pangaev.
The Pskov election commission also removed Schlosberg and Nikolai Kuzmin, a member of the board of the Pskov branch of Yabloko, from the regional elections because of their participation in a rally in support of Navalny, but reinstated their candidacies the next day.
Boris Vishnevsky, a representative of Yabloko in St. Petersburg, also faced difficulties in registering. In opposition to him, two self-nominated doubles named Boris Vishnevsky were registered, who accused the real Boris Vishnevsky of involvement in an extremist organization. This attack was repulsed, but the candidate for deputy is sure that others will follow. “They will not calm down, I am too big a bone in my throat to just let me participate in elections and win”, – said Boris Vishnevsky.
