The voiced reason “contact with undesirable organizations” (and in fact – with me – a citizen of Russia) means a high level of personal risk for journalists. In this regard, I agreed to the editorial offices to close projects in Russia.
Over the years, the projects have shown their effectiveness and relevance, and journalists and other participants – high professionalism and readiness to boldly resist the pressure of the authoritarian regime. I thank them all for their joint work, and our friends for their support.
Political repressions, the liquidation of the institution of an independent court and elections, the gagging of human rights defenders and journalists, show the return of the Putin regime and Putin personally to the outdated Soviet model, adjusted for his personal greed and the greed of his entourage.

On the eve of Roskomnadzor at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office blocked sites “Open Media”, “MBH Media” and the project “Legal Protection of the Postcard”. The publications noted that the editorial staff did not receive any notifications about this – from the regulator or the Prosecutor General’s Office. On the morning of August 5, these media announced on the termination of their work in connection with the blocking of sites.
Roskomnadzor today blocked site of the “Profession – Journalist” award established by Mikhail Khodorkovsky in 2016. The award is presented to independent media.
