<p>The US Federal Bureau of Investigation and the European Police Agency (Europol) are collaborating with the Italian Postal Police, which is investigating a hacker attack on the health site of the Lazio metropolitan area.  About this on Wednesday <a href="https://www.ansa.it/sito/notizie/cronaca/2021/08/04/attacco-hacker-al-lazio-anche-fbi-collabora-ad-indagini-_144ed636-6db9-43f1-b04e-bd2acfce8d5a.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">reported</a> ANSA agency.</p>
<p>The attacked portal of the healthcare system, which records for the coronavirus vaccination, contains information in the public domain about 7 million vaccinated, including personal data.  The site has been taken down and the recording has been temporarily suspended.</p>
<p>Researchers are trying to establish similarities with other Cryptolocker ransomware attacks that have previously occurred in Italy and abroad.  In connection with the incident, the Rome prosecutor&#8217;s office opened a criminal case under the article &#8220;Terrorism&#8221;.</p>
<p>How <a href="https://tass.ru/mezhdunarodnaya-panorama/12057669" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">reported</a> TASS representatives of regional authorities, the cyber attack did not affect the issuance of a green pass (covid certificate), which from August 6 will become mandatory for visiting public places, since the execution of this document is within the competence of the Ministry of Health.  The metropolitan government also indicated that another digital platform is being created to enroll for vaccinations, which is due to renew within three days.</p>
