Antalya was enveloped in smoke from a forest fire. The fire spreads to hotels and residential buildings

A strong forest fire broke out in Antalya. 15 helicopters are connected to extinguishing the fire, writes RIA Novosti.

The fire, according to local media reports, occurred at two points in a nearby forest in the afternoon.

“We are trying to control a massive fire in the Manavgat area. Two planes, 15 helicopters, six bulldozers and 106 fire engines were involved in extinguishing the fire, ”explained the representatives of the city administration.

The NTV channel reports that the smoke from the fire began to spread to residential buildings and hotels. Due to the strong wind, the flame quickly spreads to nearby territories. The village of Evrenseki was particularly hard hit.

Local authorities evacuated three blocks. Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli went to the region.

Also, according to the channel, smoke can be seen over the Turkish resort of Side.

“The fire is spreading very quickly. We cannot predict which direction the wind will blow and the flame will go, ”explained the Governor of Kumluja, Polat Kaya.
