Fraudsters have developed a new way to steal money from Russians through fake money raffles, allegedly organized by instant messengers. About it reported in the press service of Sberbank.

“The cybercriminals are announcing a contest on the Internet, allegedly organized by popular messaging programs. If a person clicks on the link, then he goes to a phishing site, where it is written that the prize fund of the action is one million dollars, ”the bank said.

Further, the participants of the “action” are invited to choose any messenger, after which the site gives out the size of the prize – from $ 10 to $ 5000. Then the lottery participant goes to a chat with the “administrator”, where the bot reports that the person allegedly entered the top 100 users of the social network and may receive five more cash prizes. As a result, the scammers promise a prize of several thousand dollars.

At the same time, the person is told that under Russian law, the transfer of funds between residents in foreign currency is prohibited, so the “bank operator” in the chat informs the victim about the need to convert funds into rubles. For this you need to pay a commission in the amount of several hundred rubles. After that, the fraudsters are forced to enter the card number, the owner’s name, the expiration date and the three-digit code on the back, after which the operation must be confirmed with the SMS code. As a result, the swindlers steal all the money from the account.

As The Insider previously wrote, Russians have already learned to respond to constant calls from the “Sberbank security service” with the words “evening in the house!” In fact, psychologists with higher education and experience in a bank who have found work through the darknet and earn from 100 thousand rubles a month can also call.

By The Insider Correspondent tried get a job in an underground call center and learned from three unrelated sources from “gray” forums, how the black market for data works, who is in charge of these forums and how the special services relate to this.
