Earlier it became known that the police detained 12 people at an opposition rally outside the headquarters of the ruling Georgian Dream party in Tbilisi.
The protests began after the Georgian authorities released preliminary data on the causes of death of TV Pirveli cameraman Alexander Lashkarava. According to the Georgian Interior Ministry, the cause of his death was “drug overdose.”

More than 50 journalists in Tbilisi on July 5 suffered from the attack of opponents of the LGBT community, who opposed the March of Dignity. LGBTQ + representatives wanted to march along Rustaveli Avenue, but a few hours before the rally, representatives of the ultra-right, church parishioners and radical homophobes began to attack journalists and opposition representatives. Several people were hospitalized with serious injuries, including head injuries.
