The reason for the initiation of the case was a video clip published by Alferov on January 19. In it, Alferov talks about the return of Alexei Navalny to Moscow from Berlin, the detention at the Sheremetyevo airport and the subsequent arrest of the founder of the FBK.
Alferov himself was detained on July 5. According to his mother Lyudmila Alferova, unknown persons in black clothes and masks took her son to the UK right from the bus stop. After that, the house of the Alferovs was searched, during which the blogger’s new phone number was seized.
In the police department, a lawyer was not allowed to see Alferov, despite the relevant petitions, and was detained for 48 hours to choose a further preventive measure. From July 5 to July 7, Alferov was in a temporary detention center.
On July 7, he was taken to the Kirovsky District Court. Judge Dmitry Dubeshko extended the detention of Alferov to 72 hours.
As noted by Alferov’s mother, on the way back to the temporary detention facility, the driver drove at high speed, stopped abruptly and turned, which is why Alferov “flew from corner to corner in an iron booth,” beating off all his knees and shoulders. Subsequently, doctors recorded numerous hematomas on Alferov’s body.
At the moment, Alferov is under house arrest. His mother, Lyudmila, was interrogated as a witness and signed a non-disclosure agreement.
