Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said he took control of the criminal case. “Any professional activity carried out within the framework of the law, including journalistic, should not be a reason for any form of pressure,” he said.
At the same time, he asked journalists “to refrain from public slander and unfounded accusations against anyone.” “Now the activity of every state enterprise is no longer secret, as it used to be. Everything works openly… From now on, the law should work the same way for all of us, whether they are journalists, officials or ordinary citizens,” Zhaparov concluded.
On January 23, a rally in defense of Temirov took place in Bishkek. Its participants demanded the resignation of the head of the State Committee for National Security.
