Coronavirus cases in the world increased by 20% in a week – WHO

The number of new cases of coronavirus infection detected last week increased by 20% compared to the previous one. About it reported in the weekly report of the World Health Organization.

At the same time, the WHO noted that the number of deaths from coronavirus over the past week has not changed compared to the previous week.

In total, according to the organization, 18 million new cases of the disease and 45 thousand deaths among those infected with coronavirus were registered in the world last week. The only region where there is now a decrease in the incidence is Africa.

As of January 16, there have been more than 323 million confirmed cases and more than 5.5 million deaths worldwide.
