The Almaty mayor’s office confirmed the media information about the death of the driver of the “Almaty” TV channel as a result of shelling of the film crew in front of the city administration building. Five cameramen of the mayor’s office were injured, reported Deputy akim of the city Yerzhan Babakumarov.
According to him, one of the wounded required amputation of his fingers.
Formerly Orda.kz portal reportedthat the driver of the “Almaty” TV channel was killed as a result of the shooting at the car of the film crew. The journalists went to the akimat, they were invited to record a video message of the city akim Bakytzhan Sagintayev to the townspeople.
Sources of Orda.kz reported that the car came under fire near the presidential residence at about 23.00 local time (20:00 Moscow time).
For the sixth day, protests caused by a sharp increase in prices for liquefied gas have not abated in Kazakhstan. The rallies began on January 2 in Zhanaozen, later the residents of the city were supported in many other settlements.
