The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow refused to transfer the ex-head of the Serpukhovsky District, Alexander Shestun, who is serving a sentence in IK-6 in the Tver Region, to another region. About it informs “Novaya Gazeta” with reference to the statement of the head of the public committee “Freedom to Shestun” Vlada Rusina.

According to Rusina, Shestun is demanding a transfer because of “the personal enmity of the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, General Alexander Kuzmin.” In addition, as Rusina noted, Shestun has repeatedly reported threats and beatings from the FSIN officers.

Rusina also notes that the colony in the Tver region is far from the convict’s home, he presents this as another argument in favor of the transfer.

Shestun’s lawyer Lyudmila Smetanina emphasizes that they found out information about the number of convicts in the colonies located close to Shestun’s house, and there is a limit for transfer.

Recall that Alexander Shestun was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime colony, he also has to pay 49 million rubles. The ex-official was accused of bribery, fraud, money laundering and illegal participation in entrepreneurial activities (Article 289 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Shestun considers his case to be politically motivated. A few months before his arrest, in the spring of 2018, Shestun published a video message to Vladimir Putin, in which told on coercion to resign under the threat of confiscation of the house and criminal prosecution. According to Shestun, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, sought his dismissal. In particular, Shestun posted a recording of a conversation with FSB General Tkachev, who blackmailed him and threatened him with a “roller” of criminal cases if he did not resign.
