Former deputy, HSE professor Alexander Kobrinsky filed a lawsuit against the publication of “Holod” and the university. About it informs edition only.
According to “Kholod”, the claim is related to a fragment of text from the material “The brilliant professor”, in which HSE representatives do not recommend students to attend Kobrinsky’s school.
“In May 2020, three academic directors of educational and master’s programs in philology wrote an open letter to students and female students. The authors of the letter suggested discussing the section “Prevention of Violence and Sexual Harassment” in the HSE Code of Ethics, ”reads the text of the material.
As one of the compilers of the appeal, Yana Linkova, told the publication, she had a meeting with several students, at which they mentioned the Summer School in Russian Literature. After that, Linkova asked one of the students to collect feedback from the participants of the event. In total, she received seven negative reviews, and six of them related to cases of Kobrin’s unworthy behavior towards school participants.
“From an ethical point of view, his behavior is completely incorrect and often ambiguous. I would say that this is a traumatized person who, going beyond the limits of acceptable communication with young girls in an informal setting, solves his own psychological problems, ”said Linkova.
Another person who studied the responses of the Summer School participants from different universities, on condition of anonymity, told Kholod that in all the described cases the details coincide and they all look like “one big story” in which Kobrinsky wrote to the students on VKontakte and called them to his dacha.
As a result of the internal proceedings, Oleg Lekmanov, professor at the HSE School of Philology, also began not to recommend his students to attend the Summer School.
Formerly Petrogradskiy District Court of St. Petersburg partially satisfied a lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity, which was filed by the former professor of the Russian State Pedagogical University and ex-deputy of Yabloko Alexander Kobrinsky against the journalist of the edition “Kholod” Sonya Volyanova because of the text about harassment of female students. About it informs chief editor of “Holod” Taisiya Bekbulatova.
According to the court’s decision, Volyanova must pay Korbinsky 300 thousand rubles, and also publish a refutation on her Facebook page. Initially, the plaintiff demanded a million and asked to remove article.
At the same time, as the editor-in-chief of the publication writes, Kobrinsky did not deny that he had sexual intercourse with students – the episodes of violence against two girls described in the article became the reason for his claims.
“I would like to note that even a member of Yabloko itself, Marianna Ilyina, publicly announced Kobrinsky’s harassment in the end – but her statement, of course, remained without consequences (except that the respected party member now promises a lawsuit to her),” Bekbulatova emphasized.
