The Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala sentenced the former Minister of Communications and Telecommunications of Dagestan Yusup Mallamagomedov to two years in prison, accused of fraud with public procurement in the creation of multifunctional centers.
“The court sentenced Yu. M. Mallamagomedov to a sentence of imprisonment for two years with serving in a general regime correctional colony,” – said TASS head of the press service of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Zarema Mamaeva.
According to her, the court also deprived the former official of the right to hold leading positions in state bodies and local self-government bodies for two years.
The civil suit of the Dagestan government to recover the damage caused by Mallamagomedov was also satisfied. The penalty will be levied on the Moscow apartment of the convict.
According to investigators, Mallamagomedov, being a minister from May to November 2015, used fake commercial offers in the preparation of auction documentation. By doing this, he “influenced the unjustified overstatement of the initial maximum price of eight government contracts for the supply of equipment and furniture for the MFC offices.” As a result, the budget of Dagestan suffered damage in the amount of more than 20.8 million rubles.
Mallamagomedov pleaded not guilty. The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed, concluded Zarema Mamaeva.
