In Ramenskoye near Moscow, security officials attended a pastor’s conference of New Generation Protestant churches and detained up to 200 people. About it informs OVD-Info.
As the newspaper specifies, the police believe that the religious assembly is attended by organizations recognized in Russia as undesirable and associated with Latvia and Ukraine.
The police officers who came put all those who had gathered on the cold floor face down, one man was beaten. According to preliminary data, from 100 to 200 people were detained.
In August, the Prosecutor General’s Office declared four religious organizations associated with Latvia and Ukraine “undesirable in Russia”. Among them were the International Christian Movement “New Generation”, the Evangelical Christian Church “New Generation”, the Spiritual Administration of Evangelical Christians of the Ukrainian Christian Church “New Generation” and the Spiritual Educational Institution of the International Bible College “New Generation”.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the reason for such a decision was that “their activities pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation.”
