In the US, police arrested Russian mixed martial arts fighter Akmal Khozhiev. According to the investigation, Khozhiev killed doctor Miran Ribati after a dispute over vaccination against coronavirus. On the day of the murder, the doctor was at Khozhiev’s house, they prepared food and a conversation ensued, which ended in a dispute.
Khozhiev’s mother and sister were witnesses of the meeting and further murder. According to the investigation, one of them heard Khozhiev say to the doctor: “I don’t trust you anymore.” After that, he invited Ribati to look at the distant apartments. When the doctor agreed and went to the back of the house, Khozhiev grabbed him from behind by the neck and began to strangle him, knocking him to the ground and wrapping his legs around him.
Sister and mother got into a fight, trying to get the fighter’s hands off Ribati’s throat. Khozhiev got up and went to the kitchen, where he took the animal bone left over from dinner and began to beat the doctor with it. He at some point was able to get up and try to hide, but Khozhiev was able to find him and stab him several times.
The 27-year-old Khozhiev had four fights in mixed martial arts in professional fights, he won three victories.
