He believes that she is an enemy, a traitor, a criminal and should be in prison. And not a year, not two, but ten years.

And the fact is that Lilia Chanysheva is a politician. This is her job. For 4 years she was the coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters in Ufa.
Did investigations, spoke at rallies, publicly criticized officials. She has her own political program with which she went for the competition of the city manager of Ufa…
On November 9, the police broke into her apartment.
A search was carried out, and Lilia was taken away for interrogation. She did not leave the interrogation – she was right there detained 48 hours before the trial. The charge is the creation of an extremist community.
November 10 court sent Lilia to jail… Now she is the only person arrested in connection with the recognition of the FBK as an extremist organization. That is, the most dangerous criminal. Right now, even more dangerous than Navalny – he has not yet been charged.
Lilia came to work with us in 2017, when we just opened our headquarters in Ufa. It was the first time that we deployed such a huge regional network, and it was not clear how we would arrange this work, whether it would be easy to find people. And Lilia previously worked at Deloitte, the largest auditing company in the Big Four. There she had a good salary, insurance, excellent prospects: she could become the head of the office, move to Moscow for a promotion. Life was stable and predictable. But Lilia decided to quit Deloitte and work for us, even though we could pay her 3 times less. Because she really really wanted to be involved in politics.
In the 4 years that have passed since the opening of the headquarters, there have been some changes everywhere, people have come and gone. But Lilia has been the coordinator of the headquarters in Ufa all these years. Moreover, under her leadership, the Ufa headquarters was one of the best.
When the presidential campaign ended, the work of the headquarters changed – they focused on their regions, local corrupt officials. And now it finally became clear that Lilia is an ideal politician. She is not just a manager who performs administrative functions well, she is really passionate about work, knows how to do it and she is not afraid of anything.
Lily organized rallies… Lily defended Kushtau… Lily tried several times participate in elections, but she was not allowed to see them. She did investigations against Bashkir officials and most importantly – local governor Khabirov… She headed the observation of the elections in Novosibirsk in 2020 – it was then, with the help of Smart Voting, that we managed to get the coordinator of our Novosibirsk headquarters, Sergei Boyko, to the local parliament.
And, of course, the more Lilia did, the more the pressure on her increased. The court obliged her to pay colossal fines for organizing rallies. Several times she sat in the detention center… Her damaged the carpouring paint. In 2019, she came to public hearings on the draft budget of Bashkortostan in order to criticize it there – and her expelled from the building of the State Assembly by force.
And none of this frightened Lilia.
When in the spring against FBK opened an extremism case, we have closed our regional network. In advance, before the trial, in order to protect the people who used to work for us. For Lilia, this was a big blow, because she, in fact, had to give up the business that she loved most and start a new life.
She tried. Lilia got married in April. She and her husband firmly decided not to leave Russia. Lilia started weaving macrame to order. They were planning to have a baby.
But Putin did not allow her to start a new life. They broke into her with a search, took her away for interrogation, detained her pending trial, and the court sent her to a pre-trial detention center as an extremist.
At the trial lily reportedthat she is probably pregnant. The term is short – 14 days – and she has not yet had time to undergo examination. And the prison doctors, of course, did not establish anything.
Just imagine. For 4 years a person has been working completely officially. Rents an office in the center of Ufa. Pays taxes. FBK and its headquarters submit a report to the Ministry of Justice every year as a non-profit organization. No one has any questions. And then the court suddenly declares this work extremist. It’s crazy, but OK. The law does not have retroactive effect. Since June, working for Navalny has been extremism, but before that it was completely legal. How, in principle, can a person be jailed after the fact for his work, to which there have been no complaints for 4 years? It turned out that you can. And of all, it was Lilia who was imprisoned – because she is brave, honest and implacable.
For the first time to Lilia arrested for 5 days for the rallies on January 28, 2018. And it seemed simply inconceivable – a woman under arrest for a rally! Then the arrests generally still seemed to be something extraordinary, they were not even accustomed to the trials of Alexei. And then an intelligent girl-auditor – and in a special detention center.
Then a lot came back to normal. Administrative arrests became the norm. House arrests. We saw that it costs nothing to turn the plane around and land a person.
But right now, before our very eyes, they are trying to make another nightmare the norm. We’re right at the epicenter of this. It depends on us whether it will become commonplace. If we now calmly swallow that Lilia Chanysheva was accused of extremism and imprisoned for her official work, then they will move on. And tomorrow anything can happen to any of us.
This, however, is very important to realize. Before our eyes, the court sent the young woman to a pre-trial detention center. Journalists were allowed to attend this meeting – but her husband was not allowed… Just. The judge “took” the decision to arrest him in 20 minutes – that would not even be enough for him to print the decision on a computer under dictation.
We saw many political trials, but before that the Kremlin tried to somehow disguise the accusation. Like, we are not imprisoning you for politics, but for fraud. But then they already directly said: we will jail Lilia Chanysheva because she was involved in politics, accused officials of corruption, found evidence of this, organized rallies. We will put her in jail because she wanted fair elections, decent wages and fairness. We’ll put her in jail because she didn’t want to leave. We will put her in for the edification of everyone, so that you sit quietly and do not dare to utter a word while we continue to rob you.
Lilia faces 10 years on charges of extremism. Putin can ruin the life of her and her family in one move. But we can definitely prevent this. We must stop this. This is not just another arrest, of which there are now so many. This is a new step towards destroying everyone. So that in Russia there are only officials who steal, and beggars, powerless people who have learned only to survive in silence and do not see any hope. If we now stand aside and be silent, then this will become our future.
Therefore, the most important thing to do now is. You need to talk about Lily as much as possible. We need to tell everyone what she did, what she is accused of and why. This story is really absolutely inconceivable, exceptional. But most just won’t know about it if you don’t tell them. Don’t want to explain yourself – just send this video. Post it on social media.
The more we talk about this, the more chances that Lilia will not spend the next 10 years in prison. That her life, the life of her husband and her parents, will not turn into hell. But also that our own life does not transform. We cannot allow this to happen.
