Chupik’s mother, Lyubov Kodentsova, is a citizen of Uzbekistan. She is 84 years old and is unable to walk on her own due to severe osteoporosis.
As Kim said, a law enforcement officer came to Kodentsova on the evening of November 2, explained confusedly that he was going to draw up a protocol under Article 18.8.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding the period of stay in the Russian Federation) and threatened with forced deportation, the assistant added.
Valentina Chupik is the head of the Tong Jahoni human rights organization. The FSB detained her at the Sheremetyevo airport on September 25. She was deprived of her refugee status until 2051, and they were also going to be deported to Uzbekistan, of which she is a citizen, and from where she fled due to torture.
The human rights activist spent seven days in a room with bright spotlights at the Sheremetyevo airport, she was not allowed to charge her phone and her lawyers were not allowed to visit her.
On September 27, the Committee against Torture sent an urgent appeal to the European Court of Human Rights to suspend the expulsion of Chupik from Russia. They said she was at risk of torture and persecution by the authorities in her homeland.
On September 30, the ECHR banned the deportation of Chupik. On October 2, Chupik left the Sheremetyevo transit zone and flew to Yerevan. Chupik considers the expulsion as revenge for criticism of corruption in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and his human rights activities.
