The chairman of the Berlin electoral commission, Petra Michaelis, resigned due to queues at the polling stations during the elections to the Bundestag on 26 September. Michaelis statement published on the official website of Berlin.

“As part of the duties of the head of the land election commission, I take responsibility for the circumstance of the elections on September 26, 2021. I appeal to the Berlin Senate with a request to relieve me of my post <...> and to approve my successor, “the portal quotes Michaelis as saying.

On September 26, elections were held in Berlin for the Bundestag, as well as for city and municipal representatives. We will remind, on the first day of elections of deputies to the State Duma, which took place in Russia from 17 to 19 September 2019, in a number of cities at polling stations, abnormally large queues of employees of budgetary spheres and military personnel were formed.
