The Shatura City Court of the Moscow Region charged a local hospital 50,000 rubles in moral compensation for “improper provision of medical care” to a patient with a coronavirus, which led to death. About it reported the head of the human rights “Agora” Pavel Chikov.

In early May last year, a resident of the Moscow region, Anna Samokhvalova, felt unwell – her temperature rose to 40 ° C, it became difficult to breathe. The woman called a doctor at home, who diagnosed her with acute respiratory viral infections and prescribed antiviral drugs “Arbidol” and “Ibuklin”.

A few days later, the state of Samokhvalova worsened, An ambulance took her to the Shaturskaya Central Regional Hospital. The hospital refused to admit the woman, citing the fact that she did not have a CT scan, and the medical facility itself did not have a free ventilator. Later, an X-ray was taken in the reception room of Samokhvalova, which showed complete damage to the lungs. She died in the admission department of the Central Regional Hospital without receiving any help, Chikov said.

The Shatura prosecutor’s office carried out an inspection and establishedthat the doctors of the Central Regional Hospital violated the order of the Ministry of Health. In accordance with document patients belonging to the risk group (over 65 years old) and with signs of ARVI are subject to urgent hospitalization. Samokhvalova’s son demanded to recover 2 million rubles from the hospital, but the court satisfied the claim only partially.
