A bill has been submitted to the State Duma that toughens criminal punishment up to life in prison for crimes against the sexual inviolability of minors. About it reported one of the authors of the bill, head of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov.
At the moment, repeat pedophiles who have previously committed a crime against a child under 14 are sentenced to life in prison. Now it is proposed to punish for life for relapse against any juvenile.
In addition, it is proposed to impose the same punishment for the first crime against the sexual inviolability of minors, if it is committed in relation to two or more children or is associated with another grave or especially grave crime.
Investigation of such crimes, according to general rules, will be the Investigative Committee.
As another co-author of the bill, Aleksandr Khinshtein, clarified, United Russia is preparing another law – on the constant control over released persons convicted of pedophilia.
