In Chelyabinsk, a court sentenced the anarchist spouses Dmitry Tsibukovsky and Anastasia Safonova to two and a half years and two years in prison, respectively, in the case of a banner posted “FSB is the main terrorist” on the fence of the special service building. About it reported Pavel Chikov, head of the international human rights group Agora.
In February 2018, activists hung a banner on the fence of the local FSB “in solidarity with the anarchists repressed throughout the country.” The spouses were detained along with other anarchists, but soon everyone was released. During the arrest, Tsibukovsky was beaten and tortured with an electric shock. Then a criminal case of hooliganism was opened against the activists (part 1 of article 213 of the Criminal Code), which was closed six months later “due to the absence of corpus delicti.”
2 years later, in April 2020, the spouses were again arrested in the same case and charged with hooliganism, already based on political hatred and enmity committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code). According to investigator Olga Adishcheva, Tsibukovsky acted “defiantly rude, impudent and cynical,” wishing to damage the FSB’s reputation. ” In addition, the investigation considered that the hooliganism was committed “with the use of weapons” – because of a smoke bomb thrown into the snow.
In addition, the spouses were charged with vandalism (part 2 of article 2014 of the Criminal Code) because of the drawings against the pension reform on the transformer box and the change house. In total, the prosecutor’s office demanded to give the anarchists 6 years in prison. However, the court dropped the vandalism charge due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
