Banksy’s cut painting was put up for auction again. It is estimated at $ 8 million

The painting by street artist Banksy, which partially self-destructed in 2018, is back put up at the auction of the British house Sotheby’s. The auction will take place on October 14th.

The cost of the work “Girl with a balloon” after three years estimated 4-6 million sterling ($ 5.5-8.2 million). This is four times what the current owner paid for the painting. Bloomberg writesthat in the case of successful trades, the Banksy painting could rise in price by almost 500% in three years.

In October 2018, at the Sotheby’s auction, the painting immediately after the announcement of the buyer’s name cut shredder built into the frame. Despite this, “The Girl with the Ball” was then sold for $ 1.4 million. The picture was eventually renamed “Love in the Trash Bin.” Banksy later explainedthat the painting was not completely destroyed (as expected) due to a shredder malfunction.

The original work appeared in 2002 on the South Bank waterfront on the south bank of the Thames. She has become one of the artist’s most recognizable depictions.
