Moscow municipal deputy Dmitry Baranovsky was asked for 1 year and 10 months of restriction of freedom in a “sanitary case” initiated after the rally in support of Navalny. About it informs OVD-Info with reference to his lawyer.
Baranovsky, like other defendants, is accused of inciting violation of sanitary and epidemiological norms (part 1 of Art. 236 of the Criminal Code, Art. 33 of the Criminal Code) during the January 23 rally. By versions investigation, they called on people to participate in an opposition rally on Pushkin Square in Moscow, which created the threat of a massive COVID-19 disease.
In total, 11 people were involved in the “sanitary case”, among them: the brother of Alexei Navalny Oleg, FBK lawyer Love Sable, press secretary of Navalny Kira Yarmysh, Pussy Riot activist Maria Alekhina, head of the Alliance of Doctors Anastasia Vasilyeva and others. The courts passed sentences to seven oppositionists, mostly they received from one to one and a half years of restriction of freedom. From the municipal deputy Konstantin Yankauskas earlier removed accusation.
