The acting head of the Anti-Corruption Service of the North-West Customs Directorate of the FCS was caught on a million dollar bribe for customs clearance of cars. About it reported Elena Markovskaya, senior assistant to the head of the Western Interregional Transport Administration.
According to the investigation, in July, the suspect entered into an agreement with other employees of the North-West Customs Administration to receive bribes from a representative of a commercial organization for not accepting verification measures during the customs clearance procedure. The defendant in the case found an intermediary who demanded $ 700 from the merchant for unhindered customs clearance of one car. In total, the intermediary received from the entrepreneur more than one million when registering 20 cars, which he handed over to the customs officer.
The suspect has now been detained. In the near future he will be charged and a preventive measure will be chosen.
