The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that a Russian Be-200 plane crashed in Turkey. On board were five Russian servicemen and three Turkish citizens. They all died.

On July 8, a Be-200 amphibious aircraft from the naval aviation of the Russian Navy was sent to assist the Republic of Turkey in extinguishing wildfires that began due to the intense heat in the region.
