In Tver, unidentified persons painted the front door to the apartment of activist Artyom Vazhenkov, who was removed from the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the region a few days earlier by a court decision. The election commission refused to register him as a candidate on the basis of information from the Ministry of Justice about his involvement in the activities of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny, recognized as an extremist organization.
On the activist’s door they wrote “Get out, scum!” and drew a white-red-white Belarusian flag. About it informs “7×7” with reference to Vazhenkov himself.
According to Vazhenkov, he has been receiving threatening emails and SMS for the past week.
“At first I reacted to this ‘hee-hee ha-ha’, you think, some kind of mamma terrorist. And now the door has already been painted, and maybe it’s time to start to be afraid. Well, or at least fix it all. I called the police, I’m sitting waiting for them to arrive, ”Vazhenkov said.
The appearance of the white-red-white flag on the doors, according to the activist, is associated with his “Belarusian background”. In August 2020, as an observer from the Golos movement, he traveled to Belarus for the presidential elections, where he was detained on charges of participating in mass riots. For five days he was sent to the detention center in Akrestsin Street, where he was repeatedly beaten.
The activist linked the incident with his social and political activities and participation in the elections, but he does not know from whom these threats may come.
